Medora to Honor Wade Westin

Medora will be hosting an event called Wade Westin Music Fest on Labor Day, September 7, 2009 to honor Wade Westin, who was a well-known cast member, “Gentleman Wade,” in the Medora Musical. He also was the Marketing Director the Theodore Roosevelet Medora Foundation (TRMF) when he suddenlty passed away this past February.

The Wade Westin Music Fest will feature many performances, including Good Shepherd Lutheran Church’s Worship Team from Bismarck, ND, Jared and Noni Mason and family, Medora Musical cast members, and members of the Coal Diggers which is the Medora Musical band.

The music fest will be held at the Burning Hills Amphitheatre in Medora, ND. It will begin at 2 pm. The event will be free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $10 per person, which will go the Wade Westin Memorial Fund.

Medora Musical & Pitchfork Fondue To Begin

The Medora Musical & the Pitchfork Fondue are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 3, 2009.

The Pitchfork Fondue starts at 6:30 pm MDT nightly & is served at the Tjaden Terrace next to the Burning Hills Ampitheatre. Menu items include rib-eye or new york strip steak fondued on a pitchfork, baked potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, fresh fruits and vegetables, garlic toast, double chocolate brownies, lemonade, coffee, and water, with additional beverages available for purchase. While enjoying a unique meal & a beautiful North Dakota sunset, visitors are serenaded with western melodies by the cast members of the Medora Musical.

Medora Musical

The Medora Musical begins at 8:30 pm MDT nightly at the Burning Hills Ampitheatre. It is a two-hour professionally-produced musical variety show performed in the heart of the North Dakota Badlands which not only portrays the story of Theodore Roosevelt but also features nationally known variety acts. The Medora Musical has a live band (the Coal Diggers) & talented singers as well as a patriotic finale. It includes all sorts of music in the program, including western, gospel, country, & more. For the 2nd year in a row the Medora Musical has been named a “Top 100 Events in North America for 2009″ by the American Bus Association (ABA). It has been on this list many times before, as well.

Medora has many other things to enjoy, such as the Chateau de Mores, the Bully Pulpit Golf Course, the Medora Doll House, the Cowboy Hall of Fame, & much more!
