Dickinson Chamber of Commerce Banquet

Tonight is the annual Chamber Banquet and Meeting.  The majority of the Strom Center staff will be attending.  The invitation reads, Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Days Hotel Grand Dakota Lodge and Conference Center.   The social starts at 6:00pm and the dinner starts at 7:00pm.  For those of you that forgot, make sure you make it out to the banquet.  Come find us from the Strom Center.

What does the next President mean to you?

After the election we are going to be having a Town Hall meeting in regards to financials and the economic future of our nation. The event will be on November 16, 2008 in Beck Auditorium (located in May Hall on the Dickinson State University campus). The event will run from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There will be 5-10 financial planners/investment counselors from Dickinson who will serve as a panel for a question and answer session. Look for fliers/advertisement in the coming weeks.

Space Chimps at Bijou Show House

The movie Space Chimps is playing this weekend at the Bijou Show House in Beach, North Dakota. It is scheduled to begin at 7:30 on Friday and Saturday evening and Sunday at 4:00 and 7:30 pm. Admission fees are as follows: 0 – 4FREE, 5 – 12$3.00, 13 – 54$5.00, 55+$3.00. If you have not been to the Bijou Show House before, I encourage you to head there this weekend!

Strom Center Staff – Amanda Moser, HTC Coordinator

Amanda Moser

Our recently hired HTC Community Development Project Coordinator, Amanda Lynn Moser, brings a diversified background to her position and the Strom Center. Amanda graduated from Minot State University in 2007 with a double major in English and Psychology. She is currently continuing her education by attending the University of Mary pursuing her Masters degree in Business Administration.

Raised on a ranch in Baldwin, ND, surrounded by Simmental cattle, Amanda appreciates the North Dakota work ethic and our way of life. In her free time, she enjoys playing games, golfing, watching vintage movies, and going back to Baldwin to help on the ranch.

She is excited about her recent move to Dickinson and is looking forward to the new challenges presented with this career opportunity.

Elise Daughton is a 2006 Graduate of Victor Valley College in Victorville, CA. She is a current student at Dickinson State University, majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing and expected to graduate May of 2009. Elise played basketball for the Blue Hawks for two seasons and ran track for one season. Elise worked for the West River Community Center as a Fitness Attendant. At the Strom Center, Elise is a marketing intern under Lenny Johnson who helped work on the October Conference and is currently assisting with the future planning of the Gateway to Opportunity Conference in January of 2009.
